| 1. William Jenkins
was born in Shelby County Kentucky in 1817. He enlisted in Company F
50th Reg. on December 1, 1861 in Lawrence County, Indiana. He
was 43 years of age, hazel eyes, light hair, six feet tall, fair
complexion. He gave his birth place as Shelby County Kentucky - Occupation
farmer-He transferred to Company C 50th Reg. on December 9th, 1862. The
records shows that he died of disease at Little Rock, Arkansas on February
12th, 1864. William married Elizabeth Jenkins on July 11, 1839 in Washington County, Indiana. Have not been able to check parents of William or Elizabeth. Perhaps Elizabeth was married to a Jenkins and William married a widow. 1850 Census of Washington County - William Jenkins in dwelling 171 of Gibson Twp. age 33 farmer born in Kentucky, Wife Elizabeth born in Ohio age ?? William 8 - Elizabeth 6 - George W. 4 - and a Sarah J. Patton age 14. They had the following children:
1. William Jenkins 2. John Jenkins 3. Elizabeth JENKINS 4.George Washington JENKINS George W. Jenkins was born March 30, 1843 in Washington County Indiana. Enlisted as a private of Captain Joseph Anderson in Company C 50th Indiana Volunteers at Little York, Indiana on the 20th of October, 1861. George was 18 years of age 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, gray eyes, red hair and a farmer. At the End of 3 years he transferred to Company D 52nd Indiana Volunteers and was mustard out on September 10th, 1865. Having served 3 years 11 months and 20 days.
After leaving the service , he was married to Fannie F. Price (Blevins)and to their union 9 children were born. George died on January 27th, 1916 at the age of 72 years 9 months and 27 days. Three children having gone before him leaving four boys and two girls and companions, twenty two grand children and three great grand children. The following was said by Reverend Doyle Radcliff: Brother George Jenkins joined the Baptist church on December 1st, 1914 and was baptized December 8th, 1914 and from that time on has lived a devoted Christian life and died in the faith once delivered to the Saints. He was as the apostle Paul when we last saw him. I have fought a good fight henceforth there is a crown of righteousness laid up for me and not me only but for all those that love his appearance.

13. Almyra Jenkins 14.Jane Jenkins 15. George Washington Jenkins Jr. married Fannie E. McCart on 5-25-1911 George died on 7-5-1945 Fannie was born 4-22-1888 and died on 7-16-1961. She spent the last years of her life with Helen and Lee Sanders. (Helen Chastain) I received most of our family records from Helen. She spent a lot of her time searching for our ancestors.
